Drag and Drop Drag and drop is a way of moving files without having to type a lot of commands. Instead, you use the mouse to move objects that represent the files. To drag and drop something, highlight the icon or link you want to move by clicking on the item and holding the left mouse button down as you use the mouse to "drag" the item onto another icon. When you let go of the left mouse button, the file is "dropped" where you want it.
